About Barnes Station

Sir William Tite built a number of stations for the London & South Western Railway (see Windsor and Gosport OTH entries) in a variety of styles. On the line to Richmond he built four in Tudor style of which only Barnes remains. In red brick with steep roofs, gables, tall chimney stacks, dormer and mullion windows, it has something of the character of a mid Victorian country vicarage.

By road: On the A306.
