Thought to have been built for the Ironbridge (Buildwas to Tern Bridges) Turnpike Trust in the 19th century, this toll house is in the form of a lodge cottage with protruding front.
Its external features consist of a single-storey with a floor plan of a rectangular-bay front with two wings. It has a gabled, gable over bay, roof, with walls mainly of render. It is roofed in plain tile, and has mullioned windows with casements, and a blocked front with a window replacing the doorway. It has drip mouldings round modern windows, and a central chimney. The porch has a gabled roof.
The building is Listed Grade II.
