Visit websiteDuring the 1920s a number of large and impressive showrooms were built to display motor cars. They often occupied prestigious locations near town centres, and many are redolent of the architectural style of the time. Most have now found other uses. Fine surviving examples may be found as far apart as Llandrindod Wells, Glasgow, and Eastbourne.
In a town known for its half-timbered buildings this is a fine example of the traditional applied to a modern purpose. The large windows on either side of the central entrance and the word 'GARAGE' in coloured glass over the main doors below an oval bay window reveal its origins. It has been in use as a cafe.
