External features; two-storeys on canted bay front floor plan, having a hipped, hip over bay, roof, with walls mainly of render, roofed in slate, square headed windows with sliding sash, no porch with a square headed doorway; at end of bridge; lamp and blind window above door; band at first floor level and rustication to mimic stonework.
It is a well preserved polygonal tollhouse which controlled traffic over the bridge until the tolls were lifted in 1948. At that time the porch was removed.
The building is Listed Grade II.
