Henry Anderson:

From the age of 14, Henry was very focussed on old Land Rovers, particularly the early Series 1s. He kept badgering his parents for a Land Rover project that he could work on himself. Luck was on his side and before he turned 15 a Series 1 had been found but it was in a large number of boxes. He set to in an old shed working on his project. On the day of his 17th birthday the vehicle was ready to be driven on the roads. On a provisional licence he drove it home on its first journey.

Harry Anderson

As with many restorations the work was certainly not finished when the test drive was over. The clutch was slipping and many other minor issues appeared. Undeterred, he took the gearbox out and sorted the clutch out plus the other niggles. He passed his driving test in April 2021 and that Series 1 s now his regular day car.

Later in 2021 a local neighbour could see his enthusiasm and asked him to restore a Series 2 Land Rover. This car had not run for more than 34 years. He stripped this vehicle down completely and is doing a real nut and bolt restoration to a very high standard. His intent is to restore it to its 1959 original standard and include its liveried paintwork. His work has been featured in the magazine Land Rover World, and a career as restorer of classic Land Rovers stretches out before him. NTT Vice President Richard Beddall who is also a trustee of the Dunsfold Collection, the largest collection of Land Rovers in the world, examined Henry's restoration with approval.
