An exclusive  NTT Members group visit to the ex-GWR signalbox at Princes Risborough has been arranged for Sunday 14th July at 11.00am.

Princes Risborough North Signal Box is an impressive 118-year-old mechanical signal box built in 1904 to the standard Great Western Railway design of the day. It stands just to the north of Princes Risborough station, which is served by mainline Chiltern Railways trains as well as trains on the Chinnor & Princes Risborough heritage railway.  The partly restored signal box has a reduced set of working levers that control the points and signals on the heritage steam railway to the rear of the box, which runs parallel to the Chiltern main lines at the front of the box. Further restoration work continues.

There is no charge for this visit, but donations towards the ongoing restoration work would be appreciated.  Anyone wishing to join us on this visit is encouraged to sign up quickly, as spaces are limited to 20 people and places will be allocated on a “first come first served basis”. Once you have been notified that you have definitely been allocated a place on the visit, payment should be made to our Treasurer, but please do not send any payment until you have that confirmation.  You will be notified subsequently of how to make the payment

As we have visited the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway previously, no arrangements have been made to re-visit and ride the line again this time, but anyone wishing to do so can make their own booking on the 10.45am departure from Chinnor and alight at Princes Risborough where we will meet you on the platform adjacent to the signalbox. Return trips to Chinnor depart at 12.30pm, 13.50pm, 15.15pm and 16.35pm.
