Visit websiteA former Toll House at Attington Gate, now known as Attington Toll House, Thame Road, TETSWORTH, South Oxfordshire. The principal structure is thought to have been built for the Thame to Postcombe Turnpike Trust in the 18th century in the form of a lodge house with protruding front.
Externally, it features two-storeys on canted bay front with two wings floor plan, having a hipped, hip over bay roof, with walls mainly of render, roofed in slate, segmental arch headed windows with casements, a blocked front with a masonry replacement to the doorway; bare space above blocked doorway for tollboard, drip moulding above windows.
There have been few changes to the basic structure of this rather elegant tollhouse. It is Listed Grade II.
