Crewe Works Narrow Gauge Railway 16/07/1905

Last remnant of the 18 inch gauge railway that ran through the LNWR Works and linked to Crewe Station via the "Spider Bridge'

Crinan Canal 17/07/1905

Opened in 1801 to shorten the route between the Clyde and Hebrides. Designed by John Rennie with later improvements by Thomas Telford.

Designed by John Harris for the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Opened 1842 and later extended. A distinctive early railway station.

De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre 20/07/1905

The design team for the

DE HAVILLAND MOSQUITO

was established here at Salisbury Hall in

October 1939.  7781 of the aircraft were built

worldwide with 3326 at nearby Hatfield.

Prototype W4050 was built here

Dennis Bros Ltd Cycle & Motor Factory, Guildford 08/07/1905

Opened in 1901 as England's first purpose-built motor vehicle factory. Production ceased here in 1911, when moved to larger premises
