The Kilmarnock & Troon Railway  Opened 1812 as a horse-drawn 4 ft-gauge plateway – the first in Scotland to convey passengers. Converted 1846 to a contemporary railway.

Leighton Buzzard Light Railway 11/07/1905

Britain’s last substantial 2 ft gauge industrial railway opened 20 November 1919 to transport casting sand from Double Arches sand quarries.

Leith Tramways Depot, Edinburgh 18/07/1905

This 1938 Modern Movement building held offices for the tram depot that stood behind it, where electric trams were stabled until 1956.

Lincoln St. Marks Station 15/07/1905

Opened 1846 as the Lincoln Terminus of the Midland Railway - the first to reach the city. Re-named 1950 and closed 1985

Linlithgow Canal Basin 16/07/1905

the best surviving of the basins, wharves and stables of the Edinburgh & Glasgow Union Canal - a 32 mile counour canal designed by Hugh Baird. Opened 1822: re-opended 2002

Opened 15 September 1830. Terminus of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway and the world's oldest surviving railway station
